Dr. Kanishka Monis

Dr. Kanishka Monis is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Monis was raised in San Antonio where he attended Thomas C. Clark high school and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Texas in San Antonio.

After earning his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine, Dr. Monis moved to Philadelphia to complete his internship in General Surgery and residency in Anesthesiology at Drexel University College of Medicine.

He then moved back to San Antonio to complete a fellowship in Interventional pain management at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Monis is also a contributing author for The 5-Minute Anesthesia Consult and has presented at multiple anesthesiology conferences.

Dr. Monis is an active member of the Bexar County Medical Society, Comal County Medical Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Academy of Pain Medicine and Texas Pain Society. Dr. Monis enjoys running, playing basketball and spending time with his family
